Measurement mode is used by MII to instruct the data historian system to send the field data as per the mode. Measurement mode is set at an individual measurement level.

Example
In order to measure a tank inventory for an hour, the data historian system has to send the average temperature, average density but also gauge the reading at a particular timestamp. So in this case the measurement modes are required: Average and Single.
