Documentation
Definition
The effective interest rate indicates the actual revenue of an interest-bearing bond or the actual cost of a loan, and takes account of various factors affecting the cost or revenue.
This field is filled for the following contract types:
- 1 Loans
- 2 Securities (operative valuation area only)
- 5 Money Market
For loans and money market contracts, the system takes the effective interest rate from the contract or transaction.
For securities, the system calculates the position for the key date. It then generates a cash flow for this key date-specific position, which is used by the effective interest calculator. In other words, the effective interest rate for securities is always calculated.
