Definition

Represents a business subprocess, for which certain data is automatically determined by the system, for example, accounts numbers, predefined values, default values for certain fields and other settings.

Posting areas can be broken down into:

• Posting areas for application areas (for example, a posting area used to identify a tax account from the tax code).
• Posting areas for more than one application area (for example, a posting area used to determine the default values for incoming payments). You can make a number of different settings for each application area.
• Application-specific posting areas.

You determine the application area that you are to use either in your user parameters or during selection of the application area.
