Definition

Controls whether deliveries for a merchandise distribution are generated synchronously or asynchronously.

Use

Asynchronous generation means that the deliveries are generated in a separate work process. The calling transaction does not wait until the deliveries are posted.

Notes

In asynchronous mode, there is no generation or error log produced at the end of the session.

If you make the relevant entry in this field, the logs are updated in an application log, which you can display using object "WFRM" and sub-object "DELIVERY" or via transaction Application Log for Merchandise Distribution.

Dependencies

  • At goods receipt, deliveries are always generated asynchronously. By making the appropriate entry in this field, you can determine whether an application log is updated.
  • If deliveries are generated asynchronously, the system only checks once in every generation run whether an application log is to be generated with the deliveries.

In a generation run, if distribution data for different distribution centers (or different business processes) is processed and the processing mode differs for the deliveries generated for each distribution center, the one mode applies to both.

No statement can be made about which of the two processing modes applies.
