Definition

This indicator determines that a document with the document status is released for other enterprise processes.

Use

If you assign a status with this indicator to a document, you see the release date next to the status.

  • If no change number is maintained, the release date is the date on which the status is set.
  • If a change number is maintained, the release date is the valid-from date in the change master record.

This indicator can be assigned values in the following enterprise processes:

  • You can control the number assignment of Revision level: the first time you release a document with reference to a change number, a revision level is automatically assigned to the document.
  • In configuration management you can fix the processing status of a document for the Baseline of a configuration folder. The prerequisite here is that the indicatorDocument relevant for Configuration Management is set for the the document type.
  • The availability check for production resource/tool uses this indicator to check the availability of the document.
  • Additional checks for quality agreements: the system always reports the most up-to-date version for a document. If there is a version whose status contains this released indicator, only this version is accepted (even if there is a version with a later valid-from date or a higher version number).
    • If there is more than one version whose status contains a released indicator, the system also compares the valid-from date and/or version number.

Dependencies

If you want to give this status to a document that has other documents assigned to it, you can only do so if all the subordinate documents have a status with this indicator, too.
