Definition
The foreign key field category describes the meaning of the foreign key fields in the foreign key table.
Category 'Not Specified'
The specification of the semantic attributes of a foreign key relationships is optional. If you do not want to specify any semantic attributes, select the option not specified.
Dependencies
If the foreign key is used to define text tables, maintenance views, matchcodes, or lock objects, semantic properties must be specified.
You can define the following types of field dependencies:
'No Key Fields/Candidates'
The foreign key fields are neither primary key fields of the foreign key table nor do they identify a record of the foreign key table uniquely (key candidates. The foreign key fields do not (partially) identify for the foreign key table.
Category 'Key Fields/Candidates'
The foreign key fields are either primary key fields of the foreign key table or they identify a record of the foreign key table uniquely (key candidates). The foreign key fields (partially) identify the foreign key table.
Category 'Key Fields of a Text Table'
The foreign key table is a text table of the check table. This foreign key table key is only different from the check table key with regard to an additional language key field.
Note:
By specifying the type of the foreign key fields, it becomes possible to define certain types of aggregates. For example, help views can be defined if it is specified that the foreign key fields are key fields of a text table.
