Definition
Controls how the application is to be started.
Use
In the initial screen: the application is started without being pre-filled. The user has to edit all of the dialog boxes that relate to this report or to this transaction, and also the intial screen when starting the application.
Using personalization: the application is started with the selection criteria that have been specified in the personalization dialog for the user. If everything has been pre-defined, the user does not need to make any entries. The dialog boxes and initial screen are skipped.
By variant: the initial screen is pre-defined with values from the variant. If all of the mandatory fields have be pre-defined by the variant, then the intial screen is skipped.
Dependencies
If you choose Using personalization, then an additional input field for the personalization dialog is displayed.
If you choose By variant, an additional input field for the variant is displayed, together with an indicator which you can use to block the assignment of the variant against being changed by another user.
