Definition
Usage of an individual financing source in respect of others.
Use
This field is an attribute of the financing source. It determines the extent to which a financing source recognizes the certified amounts of other financing sources.
Expenditure certification administers budget/consumption of financing sources on the following levels:
- Expenditure Ceiling / Certified Expenditure
- Maximum Contribution / Certified Contribution
Each single document line can in principle be certified by more than one financing source. The amount to which a document line is certified to a given financing source depends on the amount to which it has been certified before.
In respect of the certified contribution, all financing sources want to see the certified contribution of all other financing sources. The sum of all certified contributions for one given document line must not exceed its eligible amount.
In respect of the certified expenditure, the different financing sources have some flexibility in how far they consider certifications of other financing sources by calculating the relevant previously certified amount.
- Usage "Independent of Other Financing Source Types" (SPACE)
Certified amounts from financing sources of the same type are considered relevant. Certified amounts from financing sources of other types are considered not relevant.
- Usage "Independent of other Financing Sources" (I)
Certified amounts from other financing sources are not considered relevant. (Certified contributions of other financing sources limit the amount certified to the financing source.)
- Usage "Open Expenditure" (O)
Certified amounts from all financing sources are considered relevant.
- Usage "Residual" (R)
There is no distinction between certified amount and certified contribution. In other words, the system uses the previously certified contributions for the previously certified amount and a contribution rate of 100 % is used in the calculations.

Example
The following example illustrates the different possibilities:
(Not all configurations may be used in an actual scenario.)
We have a document line with an eligible amount of 2000 which has already been certified to four different financing sources of two types:
Financing Source Type Certified Amount Certified Contribution
FSA1 A 900 720
FSA2 A 400 320
FSB1 B 200 160
FSB2 B 100 80
Total 1600 1280
Now a new certification run is started for financing source FSB2, resulting in the following different values for the relevant previously certified amount:
Usage of FSB2 Relevant Previously Certified Amount
<SPACE> 300
I 100
O 1600
R 1280
