Documentation
Definition
The cohort identifies a group of loans made that have similar characteristics. It is a two-digit numeric field that is reported to Treasury through the FACTS II process. Most often it contains the last 2 digits of the fiscal year in which the obligations for the loans were recorded, but it could contain a different number (not the year) if OMB requires the agency to track it differently.
The cohort has to be associated with ALL accounts in a fund and there can be multiple values. This means that it must be possible to enter a cohort for all types of transactions.
For most funds, the field is filled with 00 as the default because it is not needed. It has other values in a credit reform financing fund for a loan program.
