Definition
Description of the path and file name in the file system where the original files and their additional files for the workstation application are determined.
Procedure
In the SAP standard system, call the file manager using the possible entries.
The directory that has been defined in the Customizing settings for the data carrier type (computer of user) and data carrier (storage location of original) is automatically opened.

If the original application files are on a computer of a different data carrier type and this computer can be accessed using the file system you must enter this data carrier in the Data carrier field.

Original application file on another computer:
Using settings in Customizing, the system determines an additional part for the path for the combination data carrier type/data carrier and places the path that is determined in front of this part of the path.

Note: for storage without the Knowledge Provider:
The field is not visible in the following cases:
- Storage in archive: system automatically determines the archive document ID
- Storage in vault: for security reasons, the system does not display the path.
