Definition
You enter the number of items for which the system will not levy any charges in a settlement period or use period.
Use
When it settles an account or when it determines a transaction charge, the system deducts this number from the item count assigned to the condition. It calculates less items accordingly.
The number of free items for the counter can be reduced using the charge calculation method on a pro rata basis.
Example
Five free items are stored with the item charge.
If there are 20 items in the settlement period, a charge is levied for only 15 of these.
If less than five items occur on an account in a settlement period, no charges are levied.
