Definition

Specifies whether a fare-driven availability query in a connected reservation system is possible, and how such a query is performed.

Use

In a fare-driven availability query, you receive a list of the best-priced offers in order of price. If the Active indicator is set, the fare-driven availability query can be started with the Best-Price Flight pushbutton in the Planning Manager.

If you use Travel Planning in the Web front end, the values of the indicator mean the following:

Active    The fare-driven availability query can be selected by means of a checkbox

Standard    The checkbox is selected as a default, but can be changed by the user

Mandatory    A fare-driven availability query is always run

The possible settings for the fare-driven availability query are:

  • Inactive
It is not possible for the user to run a fare-driven availability query. The Best-Price Flight pushbutton does not appear in the Planning Manager.
  • Active, without travel profile check
The fare-driven availability query is active but the assigned travel profile is not applied.
  • Active, with subsequent travel profile check
The fare-driven availability query is active. After the query, the system checks which flights comply with the user's travel profile and displays the cheapest offers among those flights, in order by price (their priority is also indicated).
  • Active, with settings for fare-driven availability
The selection criteria that you specify in the Customizing activity Specify Settings for Lowest Fare Search (Fare-Driven Availability Query) are active during the query. The lowest-cost flights from the results are displayed, listed in order of price.
