Definition
Controls the way in which the value date time is to be determined for a credit or debit memo.
Use
You have the following options:
- " " # No Value Date Time Determination
The system does not determine the value date time. The Value Date Time field is hidden in the dialog or is not required or allowed.
- 1 # Fixed Value Date Time
The value date time for a credit or debit memo is predefined by the value date time specified in the value date condition. You need to specify a value date time in the value date condition to which the value date of all the related postings is to be set.
- 2 # Next Date
The system determines the value date time for a credit or debit memo according to the Customizing settings in the application.
In the application, you can, for example, specify particular balance determination times for each balance date type. These are the times at which the system is to calculate the balances and thus interest. The system uses the specified value date time or system time to read the next possible date, which is based on the balance date type specified in the Customizing settings for the condition. The system sets this as the value date time.
- 3 # Shift of Value Date Time
The system adds a certain number of seconds to the specified value date time or system time and thus moves the value date time.
You need to specify the fixed number of seconds in the Number of Seconds field. The number of seconds can be up to and including 86400. You can use the plus minus sign to move the value date time to the future (plus) or to the past (minus).
Dependencies
Example
The value date is the same as the posting date, for example, 03/14/2004. You want to postpone the value date time by 2 hours.
You have specified the value 3 # Shift of Value Date Time for the Value Date Time Category. In the Number of Seconds field, you have entered 7200 seconds.
At 10pm, the system sets the posting date to the following day (03/15/2004) in an end-of-day processing run. The value date is still 03/14/2004.
At 10.30pm (system time), the system posts a payment item.
The vale date time is set to 0:30 (22:30 plus two hours). The value date changes to 03/15/2004.
