Documentation
Definition
Defines the day of the month or week for the periodical update of a date.
Use
Key dates are used for periodic updates.
The Key Date field is available if you selected Periodic in the Frequency Category field and either Months or Weeks in the Repetition Unit field.
The entries 1 to 30 stand for the 1st to the 30th of a month. 31 stands for the last day of the month. If you choose a key date that is after 28, then the system uses the month end for any months that have less days.
If you choose a weekly frequency, you can specify the weekdays 1-7 as the key date, 1 stands for Monday and 7 for Sunday, which means that the week starts on Monday and ends on Sunday.
If you choose Additional Key Dates, you can enter more key dates. The Key Date field only displays the first key date of the month or year.
Example
For example, you have chosen a monthly frequency for periodic updates with a starting date of 02/28/2007.
- If you choose 28 as the key date, then the system always updates the date on the 28th of the month (03/28/2007, 04/28/2007 and so on).
- If you choose 31 as the key date, then the system updates the date on the month end date (03/31/2007, 04/30/2007, 05/31/2007 and so on).
