Documentation
Definition
The number of items for each set of counters for which the system does not levy any charges in a settlement period.
Use
The number of free items is subtracted from the item counters of the set of items for a settlement period, such as account settlement, and fewer items are charged accordingly. The sequence in which the item counters are taken into account is predefined.
Dependencies
When you edit the conditions, you define which item counters belong to the set of counters and the sequence in which you want the item counters taken into account for calculating the items to be posted.
If you have defined free items for counters and free items for the set of counters, the system analyzes the free items for each set of counters first and then it analyzes the free items for each counter.
Example
You want up to 40 transactions a month to be free of charge for a "Premium Corporate Customer" account. You enter this number (40) as the free items for each set of counters and define which item counters you want to belong to the set of counters. You also define in which priority you want the system to work through the item counters when it calculates the charges.
Last month, the following transactions occurred for the account and after taking the free items into account, the resulting charge amount was EUR 8.70.
