Definition

Specifies the maximum number of items for which charges can be calculated during a settlement period.

Use

This is the maximum number of items for which charges will be calculated during account settlement. The system does not calculate charges for items exceeding this number.

Dependencies

This field is ready for input during the processing of an item-based charge condition. If you have entered the number of free items, these are taken into account. The system compares the remaining number of items with the maximum number of items.

Example

Five items are defined as the maximum number of items for which an item charge is calculated.

• If there are 0 posting items for a settlement period, the charge is calculated for 0 items.
• If there are three posting items for a settlement period, the charge is calculated for three items.
• If there are eight posting items for a settlement period, the charge is calculated for five items.
