Definition

The system calculates translation differences by running translation using a reference method in addition to the normal translation run. The translation difference for each FS item is the difference between the results of these two translations.

The reference method is typically the current-rate method. In order to calculate a result for the reference method, the local amount is multiplied by the exchange rate found in the exchange rate table under the key that you specify here.

If you enter an asterisk (*) here, differences are calculated using the value that already exists in the group currency field. This field is usually filled by the realtime update function of the FI-SL system before currency translation takes place.
