Definition
Determines whether new periods need to be explicitly opened in order to execute tasks, or whether new periods are generally already open.
Periods must be open to be able to post entries or perform other actions that change the status.
Use
In the data monitor and the consolidation monitor you can open and close periods for a given consolidation unit or consolidation group within a certain dimension, consolidation chart of accounts and version.
You can close periods regardless of how this indicator is set. Activate this indicator to have periods be explicitly opened.
