Use
Inventory and supplier data are translated using the exchange rate indicator specified in the translation method assigned to the cons unit. The same data is also translated using the comparative exchange rate indicator.
If the interunit profit/loss is not equal for the two sets of translated data, this translation difference is posted to an item that you specify.
Procedure
Enter a comparative exchange rate indicator if you want translation differences to be reported separately.
Examples
The balance sheet is translated using the current exchange rate and the income statement using an average rate.
Inventory and supplier data are translated using the current exchange rate. Using the comparative exchange rate indicator, you can translate the same data using an average rate. This enables you to report the translation difference separately in the income statement.
Dependencies
A translation difference is only posted if you specify the item to which it should be posted in Customizing.
