Definition
You use the characteristic totals item for easier entry of selection conditions for financial statement items in a form or in a report: Instead of specifying all of the value items individually or ranges of such value items that belong to a totals item, you can use the characteristic "totals item", thereby specifying the totals item itself. If you use totals items for the definition of cells (or rows or columns), you should specify the characteristic "totals item" in all cells. Otherwise, there is no guarantee that the report will display the correct values.
You use the characteristic "FS item" if you want to display a breakdown by FS items in a report.
Item hierarchies can only be displayed for the characteristic "FS item", not for the characteristic "totals item".
