Procedure

Enter the base version.

You have the following options:

  • Specify the same consolidation version as the base version.

In this case, the consolidation version and the base version are identical. During reporting, only data from this version is used.

  • Specify a different consolidation version as the base version.

You should do this if you want to include the totals records and journal entries of both the current consolidation version and the base version in reports.

Note:

  • As the base version, you can assign a different consolidation version which itself uses another base version. This chain of assignments enables data to be built up step by step during reporting.
  • Standardizing and consolidation entries are always posted in the consolidation version. The base version is merely added on during reporting.

Examples

Assume that consolidation version 001 has been assigned as the base version for consolidation version 002, and the versions contain the following data:

  • Version 001: Actual data
  • Version 002: Data originating from additional entries for US GAAP

When running reports for consolidation version 002, data from both versions 001 and 002 is always included.

It is not be possible to do any reporting on the data from version 002 alone, because it contains additional entries only. In order to receive correct results, data from versions 001 and 002 must be combined.
