Definition
Use
You use the grouping category for creating a hierarchy of consolidation groups. The grouping category specifies which organizational unit of a transaction application, such as the company, is represented by the consolidation groups.
When the IDs are defined for consolidation units, the grouping category is always set to 0 (zero).
Procedure
Use the list of possible entries.
Examples
In business area consolidation each consolidation unit represents the combination of a company and one of its consolidation business areas. You might have the consolidation units 10-1000, 10-2000 and 20-1000.
Situated over these consolidation units you could have consolidation group hierarchies that are either grouped by consolidation business areas or by companies:
- Groupings by consolidation business areas would generate the consolidation groups 10 and 20.
- Groupings by companies would generate the consolidation groups 1000 and 2000.
Both hierarchies would share the same consolidation unit IDs.
