Definition
This is the Master Insurance Plan, as defined in a corequisite relationship between two GB FlexBens Insurance Plans.
During GB FlexBens enrolment, when an employee enrols a master insurance plan, the system checks whether it's corequisite secondary insurance plan must also be enroled at the same time. This is determined by the Secondary Plan Exist indicator, in table T74_FBN15.
There are two customizing possibilities for this field:
- If you set the Secondary Plan Exist indicator, the assigned secondary insurance plan must also be enroled.
- If you do not set the Secondary Plan Exist indicator, it is not mandatory that the assigned secondary insurance be enroled.
You use Table T74_FBN15 for handling two insurance plans with a relationship.
Example
Assume we have two insurances plan in GB FlexBens:
- Critical Illness for Employee Only (Plan A - Master) with the following options available to enrol:
- 1X Salary
- 2X Salary
- 3X Salary
- 4X Salary
(Upper limit of coverage is GBP 10,000)
- Critical Illness for Spouse/Partner (Plan B - Secondary) with the following options available to enrol:
- 1X Salary
- 2X Salary
- 3X Salary
- 4X Salary
(Upper limit of coverage is GBP 5,000)
The cost calculation for these two plans is based on the provider's age factor, the age of the employee in Plan A, and the age of the spouse/partner in Plan B. Plan A is master plan and plan B is secondary plan. Thus, Plan A must exist to allow enrolment of Plan B with the same coverage levels.
In this example, therefore, when the employee enrols Plan A and selects the 2X salary option, he/she can only enrol Plan B with the 2X salary option.
