When defining components of a structure in the ABAP Dictionary, the following can be used: Typing Kind:

  • Type - installed or user-defined type (elementary, structured or table type)
  • Type Ref to - Reference Type

    Type Ref to is set automatically if you input a class, an interface, or the generic references OBJECT or DATA as the component type. If you input as the component type a reference type that has already been defined in the dictionary, a blue arrow appears in the Dtype column.
  • Type ... boxed - Boxed Component with a structure-like dictionary type.
