Definition
Only relevant for certain countries, such as Portugal.
Use
Official document numbers for digital signatures are, like official document numbers, unique document numbers. However, they contain additional components for the digital signature. These components are not necessary for identifying the document, but they are relevant for country-specific reporting requirements.
Unlike official document numbers, official document numbers for digital signatures are not displayed in the document; they appear only in reporting.
Official document numbers for digital signatures are like official document numbers in that their numbering is sequential and seamless.
In Portugal, the structure of the official document number for digital signatures is defined by the country-specific report in the SAF-T file for Portugal as follows:
- Internal code (freely configurable)
- Blank
- Serial number, consisting of a configurable prefix that uniquely identifies the official document number, along with the number of the number range interval of the official document number
- The slash symbol (/)
- The sequential number of the official document number in the number range interval
This character string from the country-specific report is used for the digital signature in Portugal.
