Definition

A test configuration is a persistent data object with a set of references to a test script, several test data containers and a system data container. The assignment of the test data parameters to the test script interface are stored in this object. Therefore the test configuration is conclusive and no further business information is required for its execution.

When executing a test configuration, the referenced test script in the system environment specified by the system data is executed. The import parameters of the test script are filled with the values of the associated test data containers. The number of executions is equivalent to the number of variants defined in the test configuration. Each variant starts the test script with different test data. The executed variants of the test configuration and the used test data are independent from each other. It is not possible to write export parameters of a test script into the test data. The execution of a test configuration is recorded in a start activity log.
