Definition

File name on the application server.

Use

The file name is used to read and write files from and to the application server.

Dependencies

In the standard system, the following logical file names of the application server are provided:

  • EHS_FTAPPL_2 (with validation)
  • EHS_FTAPPL

To read and write files from and to the application server, you can use the logical file name EHS_FTAPPL_2 or EHS_FTAPPL. Validation is carried out for EHS_FTAPPL_2. Logical file paths are assigned to the logical file names.

The physical file path on the application server is assigned to the logical file path. In the logical file name EHS_FTAPPL, you can specify the physical file name.

EHS_FTAPPL_2 (with validation)

If the logical file path EHS_FTAPPL_PATH_2 was assigned to the logical file name EHS_FTAPPL_2 in the Customizing activity Specify File Paths and Names, the corresponding physical file path is output as the default value. In the logical file name EHS_FTAPPL_2, you can also specify a subdirectory as the physical file name.

If a physical file path was not assigned to the logical file path EHS_FTAPPL_PATH_2 in the Customizing activity Specify File Paths and Names, the logical file name EHS_FTAPPL is output as the default value. The system does not validate the logical file path in this case, which means the physical file path can be selected freely.

You can change the file name. Note, however, that the physical file path must match the logical file path. The file name, on the other hand, can be selected freely.

EHS_FTAPPL

If the logical file path EHS_FTAPPL_PATH was assigned to the logical file name EHS_FTAPPL in the Customizing activity Specify File Paths and Names, the corresponding physical file path is output as the default value. No validation occurs.

You can change the file path and the file name.
