Definition

A set group groups together characteristics from the same set type in different utility products. You must enter a characteristic value only once and then it is used by default for all utility product items of an order or quotation.

Allocate a set group to a set type for the definition of a utility product. If you now create a quotation or order for utility products and the set types of the utility products in the quotation or order belong to the same set group, then the characteristic values entered once for a utility product are used for all other utility products of the set group.

This saves the agent from entering the same characteristic value lots of times for similar utility products. This is especially useful for price comparisons.

Example

Two utility products STROMLIEFERUNG1 and STROMLIEFERUNG2 are defined in Customizing under Define Utility Product.

Set type CONSUMPTION is allocated to both utility products.

Set type CONSUMPTION defines two characteristics:

  • Period consumption
  • Move-in date

Set type CONSUMPTION is allocated to set group CONS_LINK in both utility products.

An agent now includes both utility products in a quotation (or order) and enters, for example, the value 1000 kWh for period consumption for utility product STROMLIEFERUNG1. The value of 1000 kWh is automatically set for the period consumption characteristic in utility product STROMLIEFERUNG2. This is due to the definition of set group CONS_LINK for set type CONSUMPTION in utility product STROMLIEFERUNG1 and in utility product STROMLIEFERUNG2.

Further notes

There are no restrictions when naming the set groups.

The user can choose whether to switch off the connection of characteristic values via the set group definiton when creating a quotation or order.
