The value entered in this field defines how a business partner's e-mail address is to be determined in the IAC 'Create Internet User'. There are several possible scenarios leading up to this and you can respond differently to them. For example, there may or may not be an e-mail address recorded for the business partner in the application. Also, there may or may not be an e-mail address specified on the form for creating an Internet user. The e-mail address taken from the business partner's data may differ from the one entered. To resolve situations like these, you may want to have a separate screen processed to determine the e-mail address. You can choose from the following possible settings:
Always determine e-mail address on a separate screen. If you choose this setting, a new screen is always processed to determine the e-mail address. The system makes an entry in the field for the e-mail address if possible, either using the e-mail address entered by the customer or, if they have not entered one, the e-mail address taken from the business partner data.
E-mail address on a separate screen except if the user's entry is the same as the address in the business partner data. This setting is a refinement of the option described above. The application does not access the separate screen if the e-mail address entered by the user is the same as the one recorded in the business partner data.
Extra screen if the entry is not the same as the business partner data or if no e-mail address exists. Here, the separate screen for determining the e-mail address is processed in two cases:
The user does not enter an e-mail address and there is no e-mail address recorded in the business partner data.
The user entered an e-mail address and there is one recorded in the business partner data but the two differ.
Separate screen if entry not the same as business partner data. Here, the application only processes a separate screen to determine the e-mail address if the user has made an entry that differs from the e-mail address recorded in the business partner data.
No separate screen (if in doubt, use business partner data). Here, the application never processes a separate screen to determine the e-mail address. If the user's entry is not the same as the data recorded, the application uses the e-mail address from the business partner data.
No separate screen (if in doubt, use user's entry). Here, the application never processes a separate screen for determining the e-mail address. If the user's entry is not the same as the data recorded, the application takes their entry.
The e-mail address used is always stored in the customer's business partner data.
