Definition
RFC connection to the system in which the function(s) "Postal Check" and/or "Duplicate Check" are being run.
Use
In the SAP standard delivery, both of these checks ("Postal Check" and "Duplicate Check") require implementation of the SAP CRM system (release 4.0).
This CRM system contains a function for a "Postal Check" and a function for "Duplicate Check". These functions are called via RFC (i.e., they run in the CRM system). The functions use the address data that is loaded into the BW system. They then check this data against the business partner master data in CRM.
You can implement your own checks using Business Add-In ELM_CHECK. These checks will then no longer need to be run in CRM.
