Definition
This indicator is set during Customizing for the category of an address list.
If the data in an address list is rented, then that address list must be assigned a category for which the "rented" indicator has been set in Customizing.
Use
If Segment Builder is used to transfer the address data from the SAP BW system to the SAP CRM system, then the business partners are created there.
When business partners are created, the system uses the list category to determine whether that list is rented. If that is the case, then the business partners are also marked as rented. This is done during business partner creation by setting the "Rented" indicator in the sales classification.
Business partner master records for which the "Rented" indicator is set, are not distributed to CRM Mobile and not to the connected OLTP systems. The master record is only distribued when the "Rented" indicator has been removed from the business partner.
Dependencies
Rented lists have a Permitted End-of-Use Date and/or a Permitted No. of Use. When creating outbound contacts for a marketing promotion, the system checks whether outbound contacts can still be created for the rented business partners.
The "Rented" indicator in the business partner master record can be removed automatically if a positive inbound contact is received for that business partner. An inbound contact is logged via an activity in the system. You can use promotions in this activity in order to automate the process for the removal of the "Rented" indicator.
