Definition

Has the effect that the system automatically calculates the totals of the outgoing quantities and quantities disposed of in the total quantity fields. The entries from the waste items are added up.

Dependencies

If you set this indicator, you should enter a unit of measure in the Unit of Measure field. Otherwise the system cannot calculate the total quantity in certain cases and an error is reported.

Note the following dependencies when you set the Calculate total quantity and Split total quantity indicators:

  • The system adds up or distributes quantities whenever you have made and confirm a change. The system takes into account whether the item values or the total values have changed. This means that if you have set the Calculate total quantity indicator and subsequently change a calculated total, it is not recalculated. If, on the other hand, you change the item values, the total is recalculated and corrected. If you have set both indicators, the following dependencies apply:
    • If you change an item value, the system recalculates the total value and overwrites the existing total value.
    • If you change a total value, the system distributes this value between the items and overwrites the existing item values.
  • If you enter values in the item fields and in the total field and only then confirm them, the entries for the waste items have priority. This means that if you have set both indicators and the total of the item values entered does not correspond to the total entered, the total is recalculated from the item values and corrected. The item values entered and therefore the distribution remain unchanged.
