Documentation
Definition
Specifies whether period-based quantity update is activated, including period-based checks, and what the error tolerance is.
Use
You have the following selection options:
- Period-based quantity update deactivated
Only the total quantities for the waste code are updated.
Here, the system response is as follows:
- If the total licensed quantity is exceeded, you cannot save the disposal document and you see an error message. If the total licensed quantity is reached exactly, this is allowed, and the disposal document is saved.
- If the total alert quantity is reached or exceeded, you can save the disposal document and you see a warning message.
- In all other cases, the disposal document is saved and the remaining allocation is reported.
- Low tolerance for period-based quantity check
The checks are comparable to those for updating total quantities. Errors and warning situations are reported.
For example, if the total licensed quantity for the period is exceeded, you cannot save the disposal document and you see an error message. It does not matter whether a sufficient total quantity is available for the waste code.
If the total licensed quantity for the period is reached exactly, this is allowed, and the disposal document can be saved.
If you want to monitor period-based quantity update restrictively, SAP recommends the setting Low tolerance for period-based quantity check to ensure that disposal documents cannot be saved if they fail the relevant checks.
- Medium tolerance for period-based quantity check
The checks are comparable to those for updating total quantities, but usually warning messages are issued in case of errors and information messages or success messages in case of warning situations.
For example, if the total licensed quantity for the period is exceeded, a warning message is issued and the disposal document can be saved.
For example, if the total alert quantity for the period is reached exactly or exceeded, you can save the disposal document and you see an information or success message.
If you want to use period-based quantity update and restrictive monitoring is not necessary, you can select the setting Medium tolerance for period-based quantity check.
- High tolerance for period-based quantity check
The checks are comparable to those for updating total quantities, but errors and warning situations are usually ignored and information messages or success messages are issued.
For example, if the total licensed quantity for the period is exceeded, an information message or success message is issued and the disposal document can be saved.
For example, if the total alert quantity for the period is reached exactly or exceeded, you can save the disposal document and you see an information or success message.
If the period-based update for the waste approval type is relevant to monitoring, SAP recommends that you do not use the setting High tolerance for period-based quantity check.
Note on message output:
- Error messages (red)
You can display all error messages that occur, one after the other, in the status line, by choosing the enter key.
- Warnings (yellow)
You can display all warning messages that occur, one after the other, in the status line, by choosing the enter key.
- Success messages (green)
Of the success messages that occur, only the last one that occurred remains visible in the status line.
If a disposal document is created from disposal processing, and period-based quantity update is to be triggered by this, all the messages that occur are available in the message log for disposal processing.
For this reason, note the following point regarding disposal documents: if you save the data immediately after entry, the message Changes saved is usually issued.
If you choose the enter key after entering the data, if period-based quantity update is activated you can display the remaining allocation # in other words, the remaining quantity for the period # and if not, the total remaining quantities.
