Definition
Indicates the exposure determined as the total exposure on the basis of the short-time exposure limit and average exposure. This is an estimate made by the industrial hygiene and safety officer.

Procedure
Examples
The average exposure is C3, and the short-time exposure limit is B3. The IH&S officer now has to decide how to use these values to specify an exposure rating. To be on the safe side, he chooses the higher value B3 and enters 3 under the B rating.
