Use

You can search for a diagnosis (description of diagnosis key) using any character string.

Note: If you enter the character *, the system searches for this character and does not start a generic search.

Procedure

  1. Enter a character string that describes the diagnosis you want to find as exactly as possible.
  2. Choose Execute.

    The Find Diagnosis Using Text String dialog box appears.

You have two possibilities:

  • Quick search via matchcode:

    The system searches for the first 160 characters of each diagnosis for the string you entered.

  • Intensive search:

    The system searches the whole text of each diagnosis for the string you entered. This process may take a few minutes.

Examples

You are searching for a diagnosis that contains the word arm. Depending on how far you want to restrict the search, enter the character string forearm, arm and so on.
