Definition
A rule that enables you to prorate guideline amounts, percentages or numbers, when an employee has fulfilled only part of the eligibility requirements of a compensation plan.
Example
An employee is hired on 01.03.2003. If the evaluation period is set from 01.01.2003 to 31.12.2003 and the guideline stipulates that the company profit-sharing bonus must be prorated, the bonus will be calculated accordingly.
