Documentation
Definition
A barcode profile defines the number of individual barcode lines that should appear on a label, for example. You can also assign the required data/application identifier (AI) within these lines.
Use
Barcode profiles are very closely linked to the printed label. The contents of the barcode profile must reappear in the printed barcode. The profile determines what is contained in the barcode.
Example
To describe two barcodes according to the EAN128 norm that contain the SSCC, shelf life expiration date, the EAN and quantity of material, first define a name for the profile. Then assign AI 02 (EAN) to position 1, AI 37 (quantity) to position 2 and AI 15 (shelf life) to position 3 in line 1. Assign AI 00 (SSCC) to position 1 in line 2.
This profile creates the following barcode, with the following text:
(02) 400638105279 (37) 00000250 (15) 991231
(00) 331084421026048468
