Definition
Value of a characteristic
- For characteristics in character format (CHAR), this field contains one string.
- The values in time format (TIME) must match the following template: HH:MM:SS. The separators are set automatically.
Example: 132855 --> 13:28:55
- The values in date format (DATE) must match the following template: DD.MM.YYYY. The separators are set automatically.
Example: 110100 --> 11.01.2000
Note
If you assign values to effectivity parameters, you can specify single values but not intervals.
The following description does not apply when assigning values to effectivity parameters:
You can specify a number or, if allowed, an interval for characteristics in numeric (NUM), time (TIME), or date (DATE) format.
Intervals are written as follows:
Value1 - Value2 (From Value1 to Value2)
>Value1 (Greater than Value1)
>=Value1 (Greater than or equal to Value1)
<Value2 (Less than Value2)
<=Value2 (Less than or equal to Value2)
>Value1 - <Value2 (Greater than Value1 and less than Value2)
Value1 - <Value2 (Greater than or equal to Value1 and less than Value2)
>Value1 - Value2 (Greater than Value1 and less than or equal to Value2)
For multiple-value characteristics, you can specify several values and separate them with a semicolon.
If you have maintained the unit of measurement for a numerical value when you specified the format, it is automatically displayed.
Note
When maintaining values of an interval for characteristics in the classification system, you must flag the characteristic as multiple-value. That way more than one interval can be maintained.
During configuration, however, if you assign more than one interval to a characteristic (such as intervals 1 - 2 m and 5 - 6 m for the characteristic length), the system only uses one of these intervals when creating the inspection lot in QM. To prevent this, do NOT assign more than one interval to a characteristic.
