Definition
Specifies whether a marker is one of the following:
- Functional location
- Piece of equipment
- "Normal" marker (such as mileposts)
- Well-known location (such as a roadside motel or rest stop)
- Well-known functional location (such as a bridge at a highway interchange that belongs to the highway it crosses and therefore has corresponding linear data)
- Well-known equipment
Use
Functional Location and Equipment Marker Types
The functional location and equipment marker types always refer to technical objects. If you enter a technical object for one of these marker types either directly or using the input help, the system defaults the linear data of the marker. You cannot change the linear data of these marker types.
"Normal" Marker Types and Well-Known Location Marker Types
The "normal" marker types and well-known location marker types never refer to a technical object. You can enter the linear data of the marker manually.
Well-Known Functional Location and Well-Known Equipment Marker Types
The well-known functional location and well-known equipment marker types refer to technical objects. If you enter a technical object with one of these marker types either directly or using the input help and if the linear data fields of the marker only contain initial values, the system defaults linear data from the master data of the technical object. You can then change the linear data defaults.
You can also enter non-linear technical objects using these marker types, as well as enter linear data manually.
