Documentation

Definition

Cell phone number, consisting of cell phone prefix and number, but without a country code. This number is defined regardless of the address.

Use

Cell phone number, as dialled from within the same country.

Procedure

Enter the cell phone number.

The following rules apply for the formatting of mobile phone numbers:

  • The length of input in field Mobile Telephone can be a maximum of 24 characters.
  • Leading blank characters are not permitted in field Mobile Telephone.
  • The following are recognized as valid characters:
    • Digits (0123456789)
    • Letters (ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ)
    • The characters: /, (, ), -, * , # and " " (blanks), but not as leading characters.
  • If a + is entered as the first character, the system checks whether the specified number starts with a country code. If it does, a warning is output because the country code is determined automatically by the system and is not to be stored in the field 'Mobile Telephone Number'.
  • If an & is entered as the first character, the automatic check and formatting of the mobile telephone number and the detemination of the country code are suppressed.

Examples

For the number "01234/56789", enter the following:
Mobile telephone: 01234/567

For the number "708 205-2342", enter the following:
Mobil telephone: 708 205-2342

Dependencies

If more than one cell phone number is maintained for an address, then the first cell phone number is always indicated as the standard number.
