Definition

Using point of delivery (PoD) groups enables you to freely arrange the PoDs in groups.
For each deregulation process you can arrange the PoDs in the necessary groups.

PoDs can be manually or automatically allocated to PoD groups.

• Automatic allocation
  You can define the logic for automatically allocating PoDs using the ISU_IDE_UI_PODGROUP Business Add-In (BAdI). Based on the rate categories of the installations that are allocated to the PoD, the system proposes a default allocation logic.
  Automatic allocation can be triggered by the REIDEUIPODGROUPGENERATE report.
• Manual allocation
  You can manually override the automatic allocation of PoDs in the PoD transaction, on the Point of Delivery Group tab page.

Use

The allocation of PoDs to PoD groups is required for the following processes in IS-U.

• Definition and application of service provider agreements
  You can differentiate between a service provider's agreement for each PoD group. When you apply the service provider agreement for a PoD, the system uses the control parameters of the corresponding PoD group.
• Definition and application of the grid usage rates for the grid
  You can define different grid usage rates for each PoD. When you apply these rates for a PoD (when verifying bill receipt, for example), the systems uses the grid usage rates of the corresponding PoD group.

Dependencies

You can use a workflow to have the system automatically refresh the allocation of PoD to PoD group when changes are made to master data. To do this, use the ISUPOD.UpdatePodGroup method for the ISUPOD BOR object of the PoD.
