Dependencies
For payments and repayments of the loan that take place during Payroll, the system determines the relevant payroll period using the payment date entered and uses this for interest calculation. During the process, it takes into consideration the settings you have made in Customizing for Loans under Adjust Value Date.
For payments and repayments of the loan that are made externally (via check or bank transfer), the system directly uses the payment day entered.
Example
You have specified that payments and repayments should be made at the end of the period for payroll area X0. In your enterprise, payroll is run on a monthly basis. You create a loan for an employee from payroll area X0, and enter March 15 as the payment date for a loan payment (payroll). This means that the loan is paid out at the end of period 04 and interest only incurs from the date of payment onwards. The employee must therefore only pay interest for the loan from period 05 onwards.
You enter July 10 as the payment date for a special repayment (external). This means that repayment is made on exactly July 10. Interest is calculated using this date as a basis.
