Definition
To use the PC download function, enter a target directory and file name (without the extension). The default value is BLANK.
When a file is downloaded, the evaluation program converts the selected data into a DBase format and transfers it to the directory you have specified. This data can then be processed using PC programs or imported into a PC database.
The download program creates a data file and an additional file. The data file contains a dBase table with the data selected by the application program. The additional file contains a description of each of the fields in the data file as well as a dBase table with the field names and their meanings.
The download functionality:
- creates two dBase files on the local PC,
a data file with the extension 'DBF' and
an additional file with the extension 'NAM'
- The download transfer capacity corresponds to the available network
capacity, which is about 1 MByte/minute.
- Batch operation is not possible
Your data protection concept should also take into account that SAP system data is stored on your PC after the download.
Example
You want to store the data 'ABKRS01' in the directory 'LGA' on disk 'C'.
-> Parameter: 'C:\LGA\ABKRS01'
The PC creates the files ABKRS01.DBF and ABKRS01.NAM in the directory C:\LGA.
Please note that the dataset which is selected depends on the evaluation type and number of persons, wage types, retroactive accounting periods, etc. Make sure your PC has sufficient storage capacity.
