Definition
Use
In this field, you define which date of the payroll period the system uses to determine the Period Number. The system uses the period number in the Payroll Control Record to continually project the payroll periods for a year. When counting the period numbers the system starts again at one with every fiscal year.
Your entries then lead to different results, if the payday is outside the payroll period or if the start date and end date of the period are in different years.
Dependencies
Example
In your system, you use weekly payroll periods. The payday is 4 days after the end of the period. Depending on your entry in this field, the following payroll period, for example, has different period numbers:
The period starts on January 01 and ends on January 07 2001. The payday for this period is January 11.
Input Period number Year
' ' 02 2001
1 01 2001
2 01 2001
If you enter the payday to determine the period number, this period has period number 01, because the payday of the previous period (from 25 to 31 December 2000) is January 04. The period from 25 to 31 December 2000 is therefore considered to be the first period for the year 2001.
