Definition

Specifies the number that the system automatically allocates to the version.

Use

One version is created when a warranty claim is entered and generally assigned to the versions from claimant category. The version can belong to a different category, however, depending on the process and the setting in Customizing for Warranty Claim Processing. In the further course of the warranty process, the partners send further versions that have been created either manually or automatically in different categories. The most current version is always the active version, that is, the version that can be edited; older versions are inactive, even if they are in the same category (exception: claims with claim split).
