Definition
Allows you to select records for review (or reporting) according to criteria you specify. This is helpful when multiple records exist for an infotype. For example, there could be many Relationship infotype records linked with an organizational unit, but you may be interested in only a few.
NOTE: This is an optional field used by programmers for reporting purposes. Leave this field blank if it does not apply to you.
Use
What you enter in this field varies according to the infotype and subtype you are working with. You must know which data to enter for which infotypes. Use these conventions:
- an asterisk (*) stands for any combination of characters
- a plus sign (+) stands for any one character
Example
This field is most frequently used to extract Relationship infotype records. If you are working with an organizational unit, and you wish to review all Relationship records with other organizational units. You would enter:
<the object type> <a space> <an asterisk>
O *
The system retrieves all relationship records between organizational units.
If for example you only want to have the relationships of an object to object O 00000001 enter the character string O 00000001* in the Data sample field.
