Definition

Section of a document which is maintained as an independent document.

Design departments, for example, can use document parts to divide up large documents such as design drawings into pages.

Procedure

The following two special characters are not supported in the key identifying a document part: "," and "&".
The special character "*" has a specific meaning.

When you Create a document:

• If you do not make an entry, the system creates document part 000.
  The special character "*" is not supported.

When you Change or Display a document:

• To select a document part from a list of existing document parts, either choose Environment -> Document parts or enter the special character * in the Document part field.
  You see a list of all document parts of the document.
• Place the cursor on the line containing the document you want to process and choose function Choose.
• The system goes to the Basic data screen, on which you can process the document part you chose.
