Definition

Controls, for each material type, whether and to what extent (with/without batch master) documentary batches are used.

Use

You can choose from the following options:

  • No Documentary Batches
This means that it not possible to enter data in the documentary batch fields. The fields are displayed as soon the general use of documentary batches has been activated.
  • Only Usage Data, no Batch Master (1)
You can enter data in the documentary batch fields provided that the current process step also permits entry of documentary batches. Based on the documentary batch, a where-used list can be created.
  • Usage Data and Batch Master (2)
You can enter data in the documentary batch fields provided that the current process step also permits entry of documentary batches. Based on the documentary batch, a where-used list can be created.
Furthermore, the system automatically creates a batch master in the background for certain types of goods movement posting (see Process Step). To fill batch master fields or batch classification, use the enhancement SAPLV1ZN.

Dependencies

You can override these settings with the Business Add-In (BAdI) Documentary Batch (VBDOCUBATCH).

If you do not use documentary batches (Documentary Batches not Active) then you cannot make any settings.
