Definition
The software component refers to a quantity of software objects that can only be delivered together. Different functions of the software component are released successively in release upgrades. Separate support packages can be provided for the different software components.
The assignment of objects to a software component occurs on the basis of the assignment of the package to which the object belongs. It is possible to move an object from one software component to another during a release upgrade.
