Definition
Lowest level on which a material occurs in a product structure in the entire company. The low-level code controls the sequence in which materials are planned in the material requirements planning (MRP) run. First, all the materials on level 0 are planned. Next, all materials on level 1 are planned, and so on. The lower the level, the higher the level number.
Use
The level in the material master record is the level on which requirements for the material are planned. This means that each material is only planned only after all the assemblies that contain it have been exploded and planned.
The system automatically sets the low-level code in the material master record when you use a material in a BOM.
